Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, subscribe, or contact us. This includes your first and last name, email address, and payment information, which is handled securely by our payment processor so that we never store your full card details. We also keep basic information about your account status, such as whether you have a free trial or an active subscription, along with usage data such as watch history and profile preferences to personalise your experience.
If you start signing up but don't finish
If you enter your email address on our landing page and choose to start a free trial, we may save that email, together with basic information about your signup progress and how you found us, so we can help you finish creating your account. If you submit your first name as part of creating your account, it may be added to that record. If you do not create an account or start a trial, we delete this information within 30 days, and we may send you at most a small number of reminder emails before then, each with an unsubscribe link.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the EthioFlair service, process payments, personalise content recommendations, send messages related to your account and service, and respond to support requests. We may also use it to help you complete registration, improve the signup experience, measure how well our marketing campaigns work, and send occasional reminder or promotional emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we stop sending marketing messages as soon as you opt out. We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies and tracking
EthioFlair uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the service is used. We also assign an anonymous visitor ID and record campaign information (such as which ad or link brought you to EthioFlair) to measure our marketing. Advertising platforms we work with may set their own cookies to measure ad performance. To understand how well our ads are working, we may also share your email address, and your first name when we have it, with these platforms. Before it is shared, this information is converted into a coded form so it is not readable, and it is used only to match your activity to our ads. You can manage cookie preferences from your browser settings at any time.
Internal analytics
We operate our own analytics system to understand how visitors discover, sign up for, and use the service, and to improve the customer experience. This system is operated and controlled by EthioFlair and works with anonymous visitor IDs, campaign sources, and events that show how far someone has progressed through signing up. The data stays within systems controlled by EthioFlair, although the service providers described under Data sharing may process it as necessary to host and run the service.
Data sharing
We share data only with trusted service providers that help us operate EthioFlair, including our providers for sign in and account security, payment processing, email delivery, hosting and database storage, video streaming, image hosting, and error monitoring. All of these providers are contractually required to protect your data. We do not sell your personal data. To understand how well our ads are working, we may share your email address, and your first name when we have it, with advertising partners such as Meta. Before it is shared, this information is converted into a coded form so it is not readable, and it is used only to match your activity to our ads.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. If you began signing up but did not create an account or start a trial, we delete the details you submitted within 30 days. If you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we keep only the minimum information needed to make sure we do not send you marketing messages again.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time, and to opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link included in any marketing message. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@ethioflair.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Security
We use strong encryption and security practices to protect your data, and access to personal information is restricted to those who need it to operate the service. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via a notice on the platform. Continued use of EthioFlair after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
